My Journey to Thiryani Waterfalls

As soon as I finalised the destination, my excitement kicked in.

Friday evening became my preparation day.

Whenever I plan a long bike ride, I treat the preparation as part of the adventure. I cleaned my KTM Duke 250 Gen 3, checked the tyre pressure, inspected the brakes and made sure everything was ready for the journey. I also cleaned all my riding gear—my helmet, riding jacket, gloves, action camera and, most importantly, my raincoat because I knew the monsoon could surprise me anytime.

After getting everything ready, I had an early dinner and tried to sleep.

Well… I tried.

The same thing happened this time too.

I had set my alarm for 4:00 AM, but I was awake even before it rang.

After getting fresh and wearing all my riding gear, I stepped outside. The weather was cool, the streets were silent, and the sky still carried the darkness of early morning.

Why I Love Early Morning Rides?

There is something magical about riding early in the morning.

The roads are almost empty.

After riding for nearly one and a half hours, I reached the Mancherial Highway around 7:00 AM.

I parked my bike near a roadside tea stall and removed my helmet and gloves.

Halfway Through the Journey

By the time I finished breakfast, I had already covered around 86 kilometres from Karimnagar.

The roads until Mancherial were in good condition, making the ride smooth and enjoyable.

I geared up once again and continued towards Thiryani Waterfalls.

As I moved further, the weather slowly started changing.

Dark clouds gathered above.

The wind became stronger.

Within a few kilometres, the rain finally arrived.

That is exactly what I loved most.

There were no loud music speakers.

No large crowds.

No traffic noise.

Only the sound of flowing water and rain.

Hidden Gem That Social Media Is Slowly Discovering

A few years ago, very few people outside the surrounding districts knew about Thiryani Waterfalls.

Today, Instagram reels and YouTube travel videos have started introducing this hidden destination to more travellers.

But even after becoming popular online, it still receives far fewer visitors than waterfalls like Kuntala or Pochera, especially if you arrive early in the morning.

That is one reason I recommend starting your journey before sunrise.

July to September – Best Season

The thiryani waterfalls is at its fullest, the surrounding forest turns deep green, and the weather makes the entire journey enjoyable. Expect occasional heavy rain and muddy roads.

October to November – Excellent

The rains reduce, but there is still good water flow. Roads are generally easier to ride, making this a great time for families and casual travellers.

December to February – Peaceful

The weather is pleasant, but the waterfall may have less water depending on seasonal rainfall.

March to June – Not Recommended

Summer significantly reduces the flow, and the landscape loses much of the lush greenery that makes the place special.

From Karimnagar
